found bottles
6 Comments »In addition to the opossum mummy, we also pulled a few 1960s/1970s bottles out from under the porch.
The bottle on the left, Climax ginger ale, seems to have been fairly Richmond-specific. I haven’t been able to track down much about them. The others are Nehi, R.C. Cola, and Pepsi.

very cool! I suppose this is one time when it was helpful that the construction workers threw their trash somewhere they thought no one would see. I’ll be interested to see if you can dig up more about the Climax company.
I can remember drinking NEHI’s when I was a lad. I recall different flavors – orange, grape, etc. Grape was my favorite. You youngsters …!
I remember drinking peach nehi’s during high school. The bottle was of a newer design though. The thrid bottle from the left is the same kind of bottle that Welch’s grape pop used to come in. I loved that pop when I was a kiddo.
Pretty neat. Hard telling what else you may discover before it’s over. I once discovered a bunch of old bottles in an attic in a house we moved into. Pretty interesting find.
Climax was produced and bottled by the old Home Brewing Company (Richbrau Beer). Don’t know if it was Home’s brand or something they were a licensee of.
My grandmother always had Nehi Orange Soda for us. Growing up in Philly, Nehi was a strange, addictive brew we could on find when we visited Virginia. I found an old Nehi sign a few years ago and have it hanging in my kitchen in honor of my grandmother.
