the roses and the dead thing under the porch
This was the week that the rose bush freaked out and popped crazy beautiful flowers, and it looks like we’ll have plenty more over the next few days. This was also the week that something died somewhere in the wall or under the porch and it has been *stinky* all around the front yard and the front of the house.
Hi. I just experienced the same thing with a dead animal. It turned out to be a cat that had gotten under the crawl space and died. Man was it rank! It still took several days to get the house aired out. Good luck to you, especially with the heat coming on now.
yikes, I’m glad all of our cats are accounted for or I might freak a little. Our smell somehow feels smaller than that, like a bird or squirrel.
We had a cat get trapped in our crawl (it was pitch black down there, so it couldn’t find an exit by following light); around hour 12, when the cat started getting panicky sounding, I went trotting out to the store and bought several cans of stinky fish, opened them, and left them at various vent holes. About an hour later the cat emerged with what I took to be some cat variation of ‘Hallelujah’.
