a walk around the neighborhood
In what has become a yearly tradition, we walked around the area over Thanksgiving weekend with a eye for what has & has not changed in the neighborhood.

Our neighborhood holiday house tour was yesterday and there are some wonderful old houses.

Our first year we only had 5 trees; this year we have 7 (but the neighborhood Santa hasn’t made an appearance).

patching holes in the plaster
We haven’t taken on any large jobs over the holiday break, just patching a few of the remaining holes (that have been around long enough that we’ve grown used to seeing them and tend to forget that they are there.)

Our neighborhood (and city)(but mostly our neighborhood) got a write-up in USA Today as an area that is “reinventing [itself]… starting to adopt tenets of the burgeoning, European-born ‘Shrinking Cities’ movement.”
