some tape and mud…

Today the new walls were given the first application of tape and drywall compound. (and it sure is much easier to find time to write about this stuff when someone else is doing all of the work…)



The one guy got here at about 8:30 then put in 6 solid hours taping and mudding the joints between the sheets of walboard and putting in the corners. It sure *looked* like hard work to me…


The downstairs is monochrome except for the fireplaces. The dust from the boards covers the floor which is a simple variation on the color of the walls. The wall surfaces are grey fields cut by the lines of the doors and windows and newly-applied tape.
