we have a drywall crew in the house
It is always weird to have contractors in the house. We generally like them as people and *love* having the work done, but there is always anxiety when there are other people banging around down there.

There are 3 rooms, the foyer, and a small hallway to drywall. The ceilings are 11 1/2 high, the front room has a 3-sided bump-out, and not one corner is going to be square. The man that gave us the quote, Ricardo, said that the hanging should be done in one day, though; accomplishing this would be impressive.
It would take us 6 months to do this and completely break us.
There are 3 guys here and they’ve started in the back. When I passed through to get a coffee refill, one guy was up on stilts, one guy appeared to be running material for stilt guy, and the 3rd man was using a ladder in the space in front of the bathroom. Forty minutes ago, the ceiling in the dining room had been hung and most of that room’s 2-window wall, and part of the hall in front of the bathroom.
There is Spanish-language melodramatic pop music coming from the front room, sawing sounds from the hallway, and *much* banging from the back. Sometimes one of the guys sings along for a line or two.
At this rate, they really will hang it all today…
R. is at work and has the dog. Good thing, too — he would be *pissed* by all of the unseen noises.

They *very suddenly* started hammering directly under where I am sitting. The cat on the coffee table jumped like 2 feet straight up…
Please take photos when they leave and post an update. “R” was so excited yesterday that she has me excited to see it, too!
They’re still here! These guys are working so hard that I almost feel bad about myself…
