during which a marsupial enters the house

Upon returning home from dinner we found a freakin’ opossum in the upstairs hallway tonight.

Not our opossum, we were too busy trying to shuffle it out of the house to take a photo.

If our opossum had done this we would’ve just left.

The poor little guy was hanging out under a chair, just to the right of the door in the upstairs hallway. We have no idea how he/she got in… One of us made a damn strange sound upon spotting the long pointy nose and big beady eyes; cuteoverload it was not…

It was surprisingly easy to hustle the opossum into a box and hustle him out of the house. We drove him to a pretty empty and wooded block up the street, the same block where we’ve seen bunnies, and let him go. He scooted into the woods with much urgency, leaving behind a nasty funk in the box.
