replacing a missing balustrade

We’ve bought a balustrade to replace our missing hallway balustrade upstairs. Now we have to find time to install it…

We went to Caravati’s last weekend to look around for balusters for the front porch but didn’t find enough of anything. We did find their stash of fairly-solid interior balustrades.

We found 2 that we liked that were probably long enough. We had to come home and measure, though, which pushed the purchase off for a few days.

They had 5 or 6 balustrades leaning together against a wall. We, of course, wanted the one closest to the wall.

The new balustrade sits downstairs in random storage until we can get the time to get it installed. It feels kind of cool to have a particularly neat 10-foot piece of house just hanging out downstairs.
