this is how an old house collapses

Despite our best efforts, the long-suffering porch of the house next door continues to be an issue. It now seems like the city will be tearing of the porch for being “unsafe due to deterioration and collapsing elements”.

I recently saw something posted to the front-door of the house, which turned out to be a NOTICE OF UNSAFE STRUCTURE. It says that the absentee owner had until Feb.15 to rectify the condition of the porch through demolition or repair; as of today nothing has been done. I called the inspector’s number on the post and he said that a contract has been out to remove the front porch.
