a thing that happened in the alley

A camping trailer was recently dumped behind an abandoned house on our alley. Apparently two people were living there, without the consent of landowner. Yesterday the trailer burned…

I had one of these burn in my driveway once. I let a friend park a huge, old, propane powered Shasta at my house because her jeep wasn’t heavy enough to tow it to Arkansas. It was full of her moving boxes and as best we could estimate some kids picked the lock and were smoking or something. I was just thankful nobody was in it. It burned the front of my garage and melted the grill of my 1973 Valiant (man I miss that car). The intense heat cracked the windshield and put heat bubbles between the panes of safety glass. The car still ran like a top. The frame and propane tanks were the only things left of the Shasta. The aluminum melted and ran down my driveway and a bar of Coast soap survived without a scratch, it was bizarre.

Will the city tow that off or will they just let it sit in the alley? I hope no one was in it.

Holy crap dude. That doesn’t happen every day does it. So bizzare. Did you see the people? How did it get there? I guess they have a car if it was just dropped there. I love this city.

Steve - This was really random, even for our area. I never saw the people; their existence is hearsay. The trailer was allegedly dropped off by an older tan pickup truck that hasn’t been seen since. I heard a multi-authenticated story a while back about a stolen Cadillac that abandoned and set on fire behind someone’s house a few blocks towards the sketchy from here…

it’s creepy. i walk a dog early in the a.m. and often find empty shoes, wallets and knapsacks discarded by fleeing muggers. bab juju, i think.
easily cured by sprinkling with balsamic vinegar and attitude.
