stolen goods

Since we moved in, we’ve had one car stereo, one pumpkin, one bicycle pump, and now one aluminum extension ladder stolen.

The only thing we’ve had stolen so far is a radiator that was on the front porch until we finished remodling the bathroom. I couldn’t believe it those things are so heavy, needless to say we don’t leave anything outside unless we want it taken.

You need to get some overzealous neighbourhood-watch neighbours like mine…they’ve even questioned the mailman when he sat on my porch in a rainstorm one time!

one day a guy stole a bucket of tools from a house I was working on, walked down the alley and tried to sell them to my neighbor, who refused, then walked around the corner and sold them to a contractor. I got wind of the theft and went looking for my tools. I found them and bought them back from the contractor for $20. The contractor should have known better than to have purchased the tools and should have had the class enough to have given them back to me. Neither was the case.

Oh well, you have to move on and have faith that the contractor will eventually be treated to the same justice. Peace.

Sorry to hear that. My neighbor has had a 28′ fiberglass ladder in his yard for a long time, but he thinks it is too heavy/awkward to steal. I just had a brand new, used 2x pressure washer stolen from my garage $300! then the next week someone stole a used old handtruck i had hiding behind some cans. so now i bought the heaviest chain i could find and chained up anything i have outside. really annoying. and all the things are less than my insurance deductible. ugh.

Getting ripped off is one of the worst feelings. I tend to be pretty cautious and own too many locks and too many chains. I tend to be suspicious of people I dont know and can be a little aggressive if I think a person is up to no good. I dont like these things about myself, but I am protective of my stuff and my neighborhood.
