cats good; pigeons bad

A goal of ours since the beginning has been to get the &%$! pigeons out and off of our house. Since the last update, the guys working on rebuilding the back porch have made great progress, including starting the structure for the porch roof and blocking off the remaining pigeon access point.

The porch downstairs was where we’ve always fed the outside cats. We were worried that the construction would disturb them, but most of our herd is still in evidence. KeeKee, the sassy stump-tail calico, is all over the yard moments after the guys pack up for the day. She seems to appreciate having new stuff to climb on. We’ve seen a lot less of Mitsu recently, but he’s always been a more nervous.

What a pretty kitty. I wish we had some outdoor ones to play with here. At our former house, the neighbor behind us had a white, green-eyed, stump-tailed cat that liked to roll around on her back just out of your reach.
